Barn
Ruins
20 inches x 32 inches
This
piece focuses on one of the unique constructions of the
old stone barns, the beams that are held up only by the
skill with which the stones are placed. The soaring storey
above that for the storage of hay and farm equipment rests
upon those sturdy beams. Can anyone do this now?
Superimposed on the stonework in a sign that warns of the
dangers of playing in stone ruins and the county's
decision to demolish the old barn. Across the centre of
the piece is a plan for a 127 home subdivision, what the
dismantling of the great old barn is really about. |
