Hills of Wellington County
When I listen to Affairs of the Heart, the violin concerto by Marjan Mozetich, I visualize driving through the rolling hills where I live, punctuated by tall silos and hydro poles, the vista ever changing to reveal yet another farm each time I crest a hill. And no matter what the season, it is always colourful. This piece was on show in the Grand National Quilt Show (Homer Watson Gallery, April 21 to June 23, 2013) and has led to a series on workshops on translating music into textile art, particularly quilt squares, and the creation of a quilt on behalf of the Elora Festival of music.
