Skinny Dipping

Skinny dipping with Grandpa, painted silk on denim

This painting was commissioned as a present for a very close friend of the late Ken Danby, who stands in knee deep water with his small grandson. Thanks to the gift to me of Ken’s old jeans by his widow Gillian, it is painted and stitched on blue denim that was once worn by the famous painter, giving the work an extra significance. The photograph I worked from actually showed the two posed in front of a field, with the little boy standing on a stone wall.
