Threadworks is a popular juried needlework show, and a special project
of the Ontario Network of Needleworkers. It was designed as a travelling show, visiting smaller
galleries throughout Ontario. It is launched every three years
at Wellington County Museum & Archives, and each show has a special theme.
Susan was involved in Threadworks 2004, “The Garden Party,” winning Best in
Show with The First Garden Party
and in Threadworks 2007,
“Passions,” with Love Affair.
Love Affair

Painted and digitally printed images on cotton,
hand and machine appliqué, and quilting.
I was crazy about horses as a child, and my passion led to several years of competing with my equine partner.
But as with every true passion, that love meant sacrifices; the cost, the lost of time with family and friends,
and the physical injuries to us both.

This allegory for the good life in the Garden of Eden represents all four seasons. Susan and her husband were models
for Adam and Eve, and she worked from photographs they took of each other.
